DALLON SALYERS

 

Dallon Salyers, of Cincinnati, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at The Christian Village at Mt. Healthy in Cincinnati.  He was 81.

 

He was born July 12, 1943, in Casey County, KY to the late Dewitt and Edna Black Salyers.  Dallon was a retired steel burner in the steel industry.  Dallon was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. He loved all sports and going fishing. But the joy of his life were his children and grandchildren. His final wish, while he was still on this earth, was to see his first great-grandson, Radd and thankfully he got that wish.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Salyers; his son, Steve Salyers; his brothers, Denzel, Leon, Devon and Donald Salyers; and a sister, Mary Haste.

 

Dallon is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Lysaght (and Tim) of Mason, OH, Jennifer Orr (and Steven) of Burlington, KY and Stephanie Cooper (and Casey) of Reading, OH; his brother, Dallas Salyers (and Wanda) of Mt. Orab, OH; his sister, Darlene Brock (and Jim) of Danville, KY; his six grandchildren, Kayla Hancock, Aaron Salyers, Dillon Cooper (and Maddie), Abigail Cooper, Luke Orr and Payton Cooper; and one great-grandson, Radd Cooper.

 

Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Mt. Olive Christian Church, Yosemite, KY with Bro. Greg Powell officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the Salyers Cemetery. 

 

The family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00AM to 1:00PM on Saturday, November 23rd at Mt. Olive Christian Church.

 

Pallbearers will be Tim Lysaght, Casey Cooper, Steven Orr, Dillon Cooper, Luke Orr, Tim Haste, Brian Salyers and Terry Salyers.

ROGER PENDLETON

 

Roger Glen Pendleton age 78, of Dunnville, KY, passed away on Saturday November 16th, 2024, at the Casey Co. Hospital.

 

He was born in Casey Co, KY on February 15th, 1946, to the late Glen and Marie Lee Pendleton.

Roger was a retired gate hauler and farmer.

 

Survivors include: his spouse: Cathy Simpson Pendleton, seven children: Phillip and (Crystal) Pendleton of Liberty, Roger Dale Pendleton of Liberty, Karen Pendleton and (Garnett Morgan) of Liberty, Jennifer Pendleton of Yosemite, Greg Pendleton of Yosemite, Ivy Kidd of Liberty and Roger Harris of Liberty, two step children: Randy Maynard of Russell Springs, and Danny Maynard of Russell Springs, seventeen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one sister: Rosemary Russell of Paris, TN, and four brothers: Jackie Pendleton of Liberty, Earl Pendleton of Mannsville, William Pendleton of Campbellsville and Danny Pendleton of Yosemite.

 

Preceding him in death besides his parents was five sons: Kevin, Jeffrey, Russell, Darrin and Troy Pendleton, one daughter: Joann Dick, one step daughter: Linda Maynard, and two brothers: Gene and Larry Pendleton.

 

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday November 19th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.  

 

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 20th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Casey Davis officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Austin Cemetery.

 

LINDA MAYNARD

 

Linda Maynard age 44, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Friday November 15th, 2024, at the Casey County Hospital.

 

She was born in Liberty, KY on May 27th, 1980, to Cathy Simpson Pendleton of Liberty and the late James Thomas Maynard.

 

Linda was a factory employee.

 

Additional Survivors include: one son: Tyler Chase Short of Liberty, significant other: Mark Jarrett of Liberty and two brothers: Danny and (Britenay) Maynard and Randy and (Lisa) Maynard both of Russell Springs.

 

Graveyard Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday November 18th, 2024 at South Fork Cemetery. Bro. Ricky Hogue officiating.

 

Burial will be in the South Fork Cemetery.

GINA HOGUE

 

Gina Ann Wethington Hogue, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was 58.

 

Born on April 24, 1966, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late James Maurice and Mary Anita Wethington. Gina was formerly the Cafeteria Manager at Casey County High School and Produce Manager at Save-a-Lot. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved her family wholeheartedly, especially her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed fox hunting with her husband and singing karaoke.

 

She is survived by her husband, Merl Hogue, who she wed on October 22, 1999; four sons, Wesley (Sarah Stevens) Buck, Justin (Chasity Weddle) Brown, Jarrod (Jessica) Hogue, and Isaac (Hannah Durham) Lay;  two daughters, Chelcie (Daniel Sebastian) Hogue and Molly (Levi Young) Hogue; and eight grandchildren, Bentley, Landon, Ava Mae, Wylie, Jax, Hudson, Waylon, and Jensen. Other survivors include a brother, David (Pam) Wethington; sisters, Viva (Clement) Woodrum, Brenda (the late Ralph) Roy, Carla (the late Gary) Johnson, Lisa Goode, and Teresa Garrett; mother-in-law, Agnes Marie Bell Hogue; sisters-in-law, Karen Wethington and Wilma Wethington; and special friends, Mary and Ed Durham.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Axel Jace Brown; brothers, Johnnie Wethington, James Dean Wethington, and Randy Wethington; and a sister, Mary Jean Wethington.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Smith officiating.

 

Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

 

BENJAMIN DURHAM III

 

Benjamin Leonard Durham III (Benjie), of Liberty, KY, passed away on November 11th, 2024, at his residence.

 

He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 8th, 1961, to Benjamin and Polly Durham of Liberty, KY.

 

Benjie was retired from Hobart and attended Indian Creek Baptist Church and Parksville Christian Church. He enjoyed traveling and watching football with his dad.

 

He is survived by his parents, two sons Jeremy Durham of Junction City and Joshua Durham of North Carolin, one daughter Jennifer (Brandon) Nichols of Nicholasville, KY, three stepsons, Josh (Ashley) Domaika, Dustin Domaika, and David Rizzuto, one step daughter, Sherry Rizzuto, one grandson Blayde Nichols, two granddaughters, Shelby Durham and Skilynn Durham, step grandchildren, Franky, Drake, Madison, Carlee, Santiago and Ollie, two sisters, Brenda Durham of Yosmite, and Drema (Rick) Scheiba of Hamilton, Ohio.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Christine Durham.

 

Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday November 15th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday November 15th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Frank Preston officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Parksville Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Durham, Joshua Durham, Jakie Bell, Brandon Nichols, Dustin Hampton and Mike Hutzelman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shelby Durham, Blayde Nichols and Skilynn Durham.

 

SHIRLEY PROPES

 

Shirley Ann Rollins Propes, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Jean Waddle Care Center. She was 71.

 

Born on September 11, 1953, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was a daughter of the late Robert William Rollins, Sr. and Annabelle Kumrey Rollins.

 

Shirley enjoyed being outdoors, mowing her yard, and collecting rocks for her landscaping.

 

Shirley is survived by her sons, Donnie Propes and Michael Propes, both of Liberty; husband, Don Propes, Sr. of Liberty; brother, Robert (Latee) Rollins of Thailand; sister, and Mary Cartier of Hershey, PA.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

PEGGY VANNOY

 

Peggy (Scalf) Vannoy, 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

 

Peggy was born in Corbin, Kentucky on December 20, 1943.  She was the daughter of the late Jack Scalf and Marie (Goodin) Scalf. Peggy married the love of her life Doyle Vannoy of Creston, Kentucky on June 29, 1963. They enjoyed 61 wonderful years of love and laughter together.  They were blessed with 2 children: Mike (Jen) Vannoy, and Gina (Bobby) Hood. 

 

She is survived by her husband, Wiley Doyle Vannoy, and two children, Mike (Jen) Vannoy and Gina (Bobby) Hood, one brother, Gary (Norma) Scalf, and two sisters, Phyllis (Gerald) Vannoy and Vicki (David) Skrimager.

 

Grandma to 3 grandchildren: Kara Vannoy, Aleona, and Lexi Hood. 3 great-grandchildren:  Aubree, Colton, and Emmett Vannoy-Kennedy. She loved and is loved by numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or Alzheimer's Association. 

 

Visitation will be Saturday, November 9 from 11-1 pm with the Funeral service following at 1:00 pm at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, Liberty, KY. 

 

A luncheon will be held at Cold Springs Baptist Church, Creston, KY.

LISA FOLEY

 

Lisa Foley age 56, of Yosemite, KY, passed away on Sunday November 3rd, 2024, at her residence.

 

She was born in Liberty, KY on August 28th, 1968, to Sue Hardwick Clements of Liberty and the late Bobby Gene Clements.

 

Lisa was a office manager and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

 

Additional Survivors include: her spouse: Chester Lee Foley, two sons: Jon and (Brittany) Foley of Yosemite and Joshua and (Kelsey) Foley of Liberty, one step daughter: Janey Foley of Yosemite, three grandsons: Kaden and (Cutrina) Alcorn, Tucker Foley and Levi Foley, five granddaughters: Layla Foley, Meredith Foley, Maci Lynn, Ariana Gomez, Gabriella Gomez, one great granddaughter: Renessma Alcorn, two sisters: Jenna and (Kevin) Carman of Yosemite, and Teresa and (George) Cocanougher of Harrodsburg, one brother: Kenny and (Miranda) Clements of Liberty, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday November 7th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery.
