MICAH BYRD

 

Micah Allen Byrd, of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was 71.

 

Born on November 30, 1951, in Danville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Hazel Meeks Byrd. Micah was a farmer and a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

 

He is survived by a foster sister, Mary Jo McDonald of Liberty; special cousins, J.C. and Kathy Hines of Liberty; and a host of other cousins and relatives.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.

 

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in offsetting funeral expenses.

ZACHARY SOUDERS

 

Zachary Martin Sauder, of Windsor, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. He was 2 years, 11 months, and 27 days young.

 

Born May 16, 2020, in Casey County, KY, he is the son of Glenn and Valerie Martin Sauder. Zachary is survived by sister, Virginia Sauder; his brother, Bernell Sauder; paternal grandparents, Leon and Louella Sauder; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Susie Martin; paternal great-grandmothers, Lizzie Sauder and Anna Burkholder; and maternal great-grandparents, Harvey and Nora Martin and Mervin and Laura Martin.

 

Funeral services will be held at 9:30AM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at the Cedar Hill Church. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.

 

There will be a visitation on Monday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Sauder home, 1468 Merritt Ridge Road in Windsor, KY.

GREGORY DAVIDSON

 

Gregory Dale Davidson, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, in Liberty. He was 61.

 

Born September 22, 1961, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Linda Roberts Johnson. Greg was a truck driver and a US Navy Veteran. He was a former preacher. Greg was a gun enthusiast.

 

Survivors include his son, Cyrus Davidson; daughter, Laura Davidson (and Jeff Lawhorn); adopted son, Joseph Cooper; adopted daughter, Renee Williams; sister, Twilla Johnson; granddaughter, Charlee Lawhorn; and special brother, Wayne Lee.

 

Greg was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Johnson.

 

There will be no services held at this time.

JUNE HODGE

 

June Hodge, age 58, of Stanford, KY, passed away on Friday May 12th, 2023, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born June 12th, 1964, in Liberty, KY. She was the daughter of the late Hulon and Viola Auter Hodge.

 

June was a former childcare giver.

 

Survivors include: One Daughter: Amber and (Jared) Watts of Middleburg, Two Grandchildren: Sadie and Lane Watts, Seven Siblings: Billy Hodge of Somerset, Alberta Lawson of Lafayette, IN, Wilma and (Warren) Harness of Danville, IN, Mary Slone of Stanford, Sarah and (Gary) VanGorden of Stanford, Josephine and (Bobby) West of Nancy, and Jerry Lee Hodge of Stanford.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents was Five Siblings: Elizabeth Trooper, Hazel Mosley, Betty Adams, Nadine Warren, and Allen Hodge.

 

Graveside Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday May 13th, 2023, at Bethelridge Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Pittman officiating. Burial will be in the Bethelridge Cemetery.

 

KELLEY ELMORE

 

Kelley Brent Elmore, age 51, of Kings Mountain, KY, passed away on Monday May 8th, 2023. He was born August 20th, 1971, in Liberty, KY. He was the son of Barbara Dearth Elmore of Kings Mountain and the late Gerald Brent Elmore.

 

Kelley was a truck driver.

 

Additional Survivors include: Two Daughters: Brittany Elmore of Yosemite and Sydney Elmore of Kings Mountain and Five Grandchildren.

 

Preceding him in death besides his father was One Brother: Ryan Elmore.

 

Visitation will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday May 11th, 2023, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday May 11th, 2023, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Dwight Bastin officiating. Burial will be in the Grove Ridge Cemetery.

 

FRANCES PITTMAN

 

Frances Christine Pittman, age 80, of Lexington, KY, passed away on Monday May 8th, 2023. She was born September 22nd, 1942, in Casey Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Fayrene Gastineau Price.

 

Frances was the widow of Elijah Thomas “Butch” Pittman.  Frances was a sales manager.

 

Survivors include: Two Sons: Christopher Thomas and (Kelly) Pittman of Georgetown and Jay Pittman of Lexington, Two Grandchildren: Mason and Emma Pittman and One Sister: Wanda Spears of Liberty.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was One Sister: Imogene McAninch.

 

Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Friday May 12th, 2023, at Casey County Memorial Gardens.  officiating. Don Cravens officiating. Burial will be in the Casey County Memorial Gardens

 

MABLE PORTER

 

Mable Rose Porter, age 89, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away on Monday May 8th, 2023. She was born June 2nd, 1933, in Ellisburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Curtsinger and Marie Taylor Phillips.

 

Mable was the widow of Buddy Russell Porter.  Mable was a homemaker.

 

Survivors include: One Daughter: Cynthia Porter Combs of Russell Springs, One Son: Michael Russell Porter of Zephyrhills, FL, Three Grandchildren: Katie Price, Carolyn Combs and Todd Price and Four Great Granddaughters.

 

Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse was One Daughter: Jennifer Porter Dunn and One Sister: Kathryn Gilpin.

 

Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 13th, 2023, at Antioch Cemetery. Carolyn Combs officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.

 

VIVIAN SNOW HARDWICK

 

Vivian June “Junebug” Snow Hardwick, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 74.

 

Born on August 27, 1948, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Fred Childress and Velma Lee Richards Snow. June was a seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, singing, sewing, flowers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. June attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Dunnville Christian Church. She had a strong profession of faith and she trusted Christ.

 

She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Bobbie) Hardwick and Marc (Regina) Hardwick, both of Russell Springs; a daughter, Dinah (Mickey) Rooks of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Delania (William) Luttrell of Dunnville; six grandchildren, Katie, Maggie, Zoe, Brylie, Morgan, and C.J.; specially cherished family members, Chris and Felicia Hickson and their five children; and a sister, Bernice Griffin of Jacktown.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Earlin Hardwick, who passed away on June 26, 2017; and two sisters, Violet Coffman and Marie Singleton.

 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at South Fork Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Maupin & Bro. Derick Terry officiating.

 

Pallbearers will be Kenny Clements, Ryan Clements, Brian McQueary, Dave Delong, Brandon Richardson, and Mickey Rooks.

BRAXTON FOLEY

 

Braxton Glen Foley, of Liberty, gained his super hero wings at 9:28PM on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was 13 years, 3 months, and 8 days young.

 

Born Thursday, January 21, 2010, in Lexington, KY, he is the son of Phillip Jason Foley and Sherrie Johnson Foley. Braxton loved the beach, his iPad, his money, fishing, and Paw Patrol. He was a proud Junior Kentucky Colonel.

 

Survivors include his parents, Jason and Sherrie Foley of Liberty; sisters, Abby and Bella Foley, both of Liberty; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Sharon Foley of Liberty; maternal grandfather, Glen (and wife, Sharon) Johnson of Inez, KY; aunts and uncles, Matt and Tiffany Foley, Jessica and Nelson Grubbs, and Megan McClure; and a host of other family members and friends also survive.

 

Braxton was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Sherrie Johnson.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Monday at the funeral home.
