JANET RAINWATER

Janet Yevone Rainwater, age 80, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at her residence.

 

Janet was born on March 25, 1941 in Cains Store, KY to the late Oscar Campbell and Viva Latrieve Compton Campbell.  She was a member of Jenny’s Chapel Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by her son-in-law, James Brummett of Nancy; three grandchildren, Jessica Yevone Ray Sutton, Jacob Campbell Brummett and Josie Mae Brummett; three step grandchildren, Brandon Brummett, Jared Brummett and Jadyn Brummett; and three great grandchildren, Caden Brummett, Bentley Brummett and Ashur Brummett.

 

Along with her parents, Oscar (and Latrieve) Campbell, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jina Rainwater Brummett.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

 

Her funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Tyler Ford officiating. 

 

Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brummett, Tyler Sutton, David Ray, Jake Kramp, Jacob Brummett and Wayne Curry.

FLORINE ALEXANDER

Florine Alexander, 86, passed away January 12, 2022 in Somerset, Kentucky. She was born April 3, 1935 in Sloan's Valley, Kentucky to John and Vervin (Baker) Hill.

 

Flo was a loving soul and caregiver to many throughout her life. She baby-sat for many years and later was a caregiver to the elderly. She was widowed at a young age and was an incredible single parent always finding a way to make ends meet. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart and made many happy memories with them. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading , classic country and gospel music, cooking, going to church and helping others. She was of the Baptist faith.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Alexander, parents Vervin and John Hill, brothers Mitchell Hill, Eugene Hill and Willis Hill, and her sister Maxine Fite .

 

She is survived by her daughter Lisa and Forrest Mark Dunlap, grandchildren Kelsea and Ian Dunlap, sister in law Mary Hill, and nieces Kathy New , Carolyn New and Misty New.

 

Services for Florine Alexander will be held at Pulaski Funeral Home on January 17, 2022. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM. to 1:00 PM. a funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.

Burial will follow in Lakeside memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.

WILLIAM DAVIS

William Wesley Davis, age 94, of Cleveland, TN passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10th.

 

He is survived by his two sons, James H. (and Michelle) Davis of Cleveland, TN and Gerald E. (and Mary) Davis of Cumming, GA; three grandsons, James C. (and Mary) Davis, Jeffery S. Davis, and Patrick W. Davis; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn M. Davis; three great-granddaughters, Jordan M. (and Nathan) Seebohm, Hailey A. Davis, and Morgan Davis; one great-grandson, Lincoln William Davis; one great great-grandson, Bryson P. Seebohm; and niece, Staci Paff.

 

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Herman F. and Dossie A. Davis; his loving wife of 74 years, Luellen M. Davis; grandson, Brian Matthew Walker; and niece, Jean Breitung.

 

William “Bill” is a veteran of World War II and was devoted to his country. Bill was a member of 242nd Infantry Regiment in the United States Army. He was called to service in 1944 making up the 42nd Infantry Division, also known as the “Rainbow” division, and stationed in Austria, Belgium, and France. After his duty in the United States Army, William went on to drive for Greyhound Bus Lines for 37 years.

 

While residing in Somerset, Kentucky, he was an active member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 and had achieved the level of 32nd degree Mason. His dedication to the Lodge and his Masonic Brothers spanned over 60 years.

 

William was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, and watching wrestling. He never met a dessert he didn’t like.

 

Services for Mr. Davis will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Pulaski Funeral Home.

 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. with a Masonic service conducted by the Burnside Lodge #634 at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow.

 

Burial will follow in the Double Springs cemetery.

LARRY HAMILTON

Larry Richard Hamilton, 75, of Somerset passed from this life on Friday, January 14, 2022 at his residence.

 

He was born on August 29, 1946 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of the late Jack Hamilton and Madeline Goforth Hamilton.  He was a graduate of Pulaski County High School and became a well know self-employed, business owner in the Pulaski County area. His scope of expertise ranged from excavation, logging, land development and farming.  Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working to provide for his family.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was noted for his “quick wittiness”, his jovial personality and keen business sense.  Larry was a kind-hearted, generous and compassionate person who was always willing to help others.  He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather but those characteristics was not only extended to his family but to all those whom he knew or had any dealing with. 

 

He was married on August 19, 1967 to Shirley Eggers at Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Somerset.  They have enjoyed 54 years of marriage together.  Larry was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church.  He will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.

 

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister; Debbie Hines.

 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife; Shirley Eggers Hamilton of Somerset, and two sons; Steven (Kendra) Hamilton of Somerset  and Ricky (Sarah) Hamilton of Oxford, Mississippi, four grandchildren; Taylor Grace, Graham, Tyler and Ava Marie Hamilton, three sisters; Vicki (Dwight) Dillow, Jackie Smith and Becky Hamilton and a brother; Tim Hamilton. as well as a host of many sisters and brothers-in law, nieces, nephews, and many other beloved relatives and friends.  

 

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022  and again from 12 noon to 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 20th in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory.

 

The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Daryl Jessie officiating.  Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

 

Active Pallbearers will be Brandon Daulton, Dale Barron, Jimmy Nelson, Marty Flynn, Bryan Sanders and Ryan Hines. Honorary Pallbearers will be Graham Hamilton and Tyler Hamilton.

Phillip Joseph Dill, 57, of Burkesville, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

 

He was born September 13, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio; son of Jilleta (Bailey) McDonald and the late Willard Joseph Dill. He worked as a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, drag racing, and enjoyed reading the bible. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

 

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Jennifer (St. John) Dill; four children, Emily Rose, Rebecca Hope, Charles Eugene, and Aseneth Diane; two sisters, Alisha and Margaret Dill; and three grandchildren, Ezekial Joseph, Joshua Dominic, and Veronica Rose.

 

He is preceded in death by his father and two children, Joseph Dominic and Ezekial Abel.

Gary "Duke" Mofield, 69, of Science Hill passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at his residence.

 

He was born January 2, 1953 in King Bee, Kentucky; son of the late Maggie Mae Mofield. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith.

 

He is survived by two step-sons, Larry Bridges of Lake City, FL & John Osbourne of Eubank; a step-daughter, Holly Osbourne of Austin, TX; two brothers, Elza Dick of Eubank and Bill Mofield of London; a sister, Sarah Jane Elliott; and thirteen step-grandchildren.

 

He is preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Carol A. (Miller) Mofield; two brothers, Sonny Dick & Bobby Mofield; a sister, Judy Dick; and a step son, Edward Bridges.

 

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Lizard Lope Cemetery.

MELVIN HOSECLAW

Melvin Hoseclaw, 78, of Science Hill, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his residence.

 

He was born May 11, 1943 in Eubank; son of the late Allen & Lema (Blevins) Hoseclaw. He worked as a farmer and was a member of Bethelridge United Methodist Church. He was dearly loved by his family and friends.

 

He is survived by two sons, Kevin & (Merita) Hoseclaw of Jasper, Georgia and Tyler & (Brandi) Hoseclaw of Science Hill; a daughter, Melanie & (Eric) Carver of Bluffton, South Carolina; a sister, Mae Godsey of Eubank; six grandchildren, Kade, Ella, & Bailee Hoseclaw, Liam Nichols, Justin & (Carina) Haste and Mariah Haste & (Caleb Adams); and two great-grandchildren, Aziah Haste and Carter Haste-Adams.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Ann (Combs) Hoseclaw; and four brothers, Marshall, Maynard, Marvin, & Roger Holtzclaw.

 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Green officiating.

CLARENCE LIMING

Clarence Allen "Bud" Liming, age 83 of Liberty, KY passed away on Friday January 14th, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born August 24th, 1938, in Blaine, KY, a son of the late John Delbert and Martha Edwards Liming.

 

Clarence was a former heavy equipment operator for the Kentucky State Highway Department and was in the Army Reserves.

 

Survivors include: His Significant Other Norma Oliver whom he was with for 38 years, Two Sons: Mark Liming and Steve Mitchell Liming both of Blaine, KY One Stepdaughter: Ronda Oliver of Liberty, Three Grandchildren, One Step Grandson, Two Great Grandchildren and One Sister: Rose Margaret Liming of Louisa, KY.

 

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Thursday January 20th, 2022, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

 

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday January 21st, 2022, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Mahlon Martin officiating.

JANICE WILSON

Janice “Gayle” Wilson, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Casey County Hospital. She was 77.

 

Born on November 6, 1944, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Alec Corbit and Eula Coien Lee Fletcher. Gayle was a beautician and a seamstress. She formerly owned Wilson’s Wholesale Bait. She loved her dog, Molly. Gayle was a member of Creston Missionary Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by a son, Marcus Gene White of Liberty; a daughter, Faith White Crew of Liberty; three grandchildren, Hailey White, Christopher (Stacia) Atwood, and Dallas Chadwell; a brother, Charlie Cifus (Jean) Fletcher of Liberty; and seven great-grandchildren, Alexis Crew, Blake Crew, Myles Luttrell, Forrest Luttrell, Jaylee Atwood, Colton Atwood, and Carson Atwood.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James B. “Jim” Wilson; a brother, Johnny Earl Fletcher; two sisters, Hazel Phillips and Elizabeth Hamm; a grandson, Justin Atwood; and her best friend, Elizabeth Grider.

 

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Crew officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.

RON VENEMA

Ron Venema, of Dunnville, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, in Liberty, Kentucky. He was 82.

 

Born on July 2, 1939, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was a son of the late Richard C. and Sarah May Flanders Venema. Ron was a retired farmer and graphic artist. He was a member and a deacon of Thomas Ridge Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Janice Rose Zwart Venema; a son, Richard C. Venema of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a daughter, Kristen M. (Paul) Jager of Greenville, Michigan; three step-grandchildren, Amy (Jose) Mondragon, Jim Savage, and Robert “Bob” (Han) Savage, all of Michigan; four grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Mr. Venema at a later date.

RUTH MURPHY

Ruth Noel Murphy, of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at The Willows at Fritz Farm. She was 79.

 

Born on September 16, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Felbert Ray and Pearl Gabeheart Noel. Ruth was a homemaker. She was formerly a member of Noel’s Chapel First Church of God and a current member of Pinckard Baptist Church in Versailles.

 

She is survived by her husband, Howard Shelton Murphy, who she wed on August 13, 1961; a son, Vaughn (Kristen) Murphy of Frankfort; a daughter, Lauran Murphy of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren, Lydia Williams, Gwenneth Douglas, Paul Murphy, Chloe Murphy, and Meredith Murphy. Other survivors include a sister, Martha (Shearl) Murphy of Liberty; and a brother, Edward Noel.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

 

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Noel’s Chapel Cemetery.

Elliana Marie Morehead, infant daughter of Zachary Coulter and Alicia Vannest Morehead, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at her home.

 

She was born on October 25, 2021, in Lexington, Kentucky.

 

Elliana was loved and survived by her parents, two sisters, Mercedes Morehead and Mika Morehead; maternal grandmother, Letisha (Larry) Wells; maternal grandfather, David (Tiffany) Vannest; maternal great-grandmother, Gail (Tom Kaye) Vannest; and maternal great-grandfather, Ron (Maurine) Vannest.

 

She is predeceased by paternal grandmother, Lisa Morehead; and paternal grandfather, Gary Morehead.

 

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Derick Terry officiating.

 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
