Casey County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a Taylor County man.

Deputy Jayson Grider arrested 70 year old Theodore Allen, of 7124 Liberty Rd., Campbellsville. Deputy Grider initiated a traffic stop around 4:30pm, Thursday, about 13 miles west of Liberty on Martin Road, after seeing a 2009 Chevy Cobalt driving down the middle of the road.

Mr. Allen's license came back as suspended, and he had active warrants for Failure to Appear, Theft of Motor Vehicle Registration Plate, DUI-2nd Offense (Aggravated Circumstance), No Insurance, License to be In Possession, Improper Display of Registration Plates, No Registration Plates/Receipt, Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Wear Seat Belts.

He was lodged in the Casey County Jail.

A Hustonville woman arrested Tuesday afternoon, after police respond to reports of an erratic driver.
 

Deputy Jason Grider, with Casey County Sheriff's Office, says callers reported a '17 Chevy Malibu, traveling southbound on 127, all over the roadway. Hustonville Police Chief, Allen Wesson, observed the vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road & initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, 58 year old Tammy Lynn May, of 170 Water St., Hustonville, stated she had been drinking and smelled of alcohol, according to Deputy Grider.

Officers located numerous empty bottles, and an open half-full container of 99 xxpresso coffee, 99 proof liqueur in the cup holder of the vehicle.

Ms. May failed field sobriety tests and was transported to Casey Co. Hospital for a blood alcohol test.
 

She is charged with DUI-2nd Offense, Careless Driving, Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle.

Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle chased down a wanted man on an ATV Friday.

Sheriff Weddle observed 22 year old Christopher Eads, of 100 Contown Rd., Liberty, in the parking lot of Jacks Express on south 127. Eads had an active warrant for violating his parole.

Sheriff Weddle activated his lights & siren, but Eads fled on a 4-wheeler across 127 & onto Robbins Drive, then south on 127, crossing lanes and into the emergency lane, nearly striking several vehicles. Eads then turned onto KY 501, then down a private drive, nearly hitting a pedestrian. He then crossed a bridge and went into a creek where the ATV hung up. Eads then fled on foot. He was apprehended following a brief foot chase.

He admitted to using Meth and Marijuana the day before.

Eads failed field sobriety tests.

He was lodged in the Casey County Jail on charges of DUI-4th Offense (Aggravated Circumstance), Fleeing/Evading Police-1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), & 2nd Degree (on foot), & Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree. He was also served a parole violation warrant.

An investigation into a stolen vehicle has led to the arrest of a Casey County couple on drug charges.

Sheriff Chad Weddle, and Deputies from the Casey County Sheriff's Department, responded to a tip on the location of a stolen vehicle, belonging to Randy Cain, which was at a residence about three miles east of Liberty on Alford Road.

Upon arrival, the stolen Buick was parked around back of the house. The property owner, Anetta Jasper, allowed entry to the home, where officers made contact with 30 year old Daniel Travis Abell, of 1474 Dry Ridge Rd., Liberty, and Brittany M. Robbins, age 33, of Hustonville, who were in a back bedroom.

Officer Wesley noticed a clear bag with a crystal substance, believed to be Methamphetamine, lying on the floor near the bed. A search of the room also located two glass pipes with white burned residue inside, along with a pouch containing multiple white pills.

Abell was taken to the patrol car while Deputy Hannah Lynn waited for Robbins to put her pants on. Robbins then jumped out the bedroom window and ran into the woods, where Deputy Lynn was able to detain her.

Abell is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-3rd Degree, and Drug Paraphernalia. He was also charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $1,000.

Robbins is charged with Fleeing/Evading Police-2nd Degree (on foot), and Receiving Stolen Property over $1,000.

Both were lodged in the Casey County Jail, Saturday.

Sheriff Greg Speck reports on Saturday, July 16, 2022, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrested Edward L. Decker, age 28, of 5212 HWY 1003, Somerset, Kentucky.

On July 16, 2022, at approximately 10:16 AM, Deputies were called to a residence in reference to Edward Decker. The report was there was a truck in the driveway that was possibly stolen. The location was on Piney Grove Road. When they arrived, they saw Decker inside of a camper, sleeping.  Deputy Trent Massey observed a .22 rifle sitting beside the bed that Decker was sleeping on. Deputies announced and made entry into the camper and placed Decker under arrest.

Deputy Massey seized a .22 Cal Rifle. Decker is a convicted felon in several cases. He was the sole occupant of the camper and the homeowner of the residence (also the owner of the camper) He told the Deputies that no one regularly stays in his camper and that he had just been asleep in there for the last several hours.

The truck in the driveway was confirmed stolen. Deputies confirmed with the victim of the stolen vehicle that the cash value of the truck was $31,035.00.

Decker was charged with Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more and Possession of Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
 

Deputy Trent Massey also served a Kentucky State Parole Board Parole Violation Warrant. In that warrant Decker was convicted of felony theft charges in Pulaski Circuit Court. He had violated  conditions of his release.
 

Decker was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where he remains lodged as of this press release.

The investigation is ongoing by Deputy Trent Massey with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff John Root is reporting a record setting narcotics seizure stemming from an incident at the 49er Fuel Center.

On Monday July 18, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Interdiction Unit initiated an investigation that resulted in a seizure of approximately 1.25 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, several hundred Fentanyl pills, small amounts of cocaine, heroin and marijuana during a delivery to Laurel County. Arrested were Justin Cooper, Travis Jefferson, and Christopher Brown, all of Lexington, KY. All three were wanted for various warrants and firearm charges and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Following the initial seizure and arrests, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the DEA, FBI, and the Lexington Police Department to further the investigation and identify the source of supply. On Tuesday July 19, the Lexington Police Department assisted by the DEA, FBI, and Laurel County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Cambridge Drive in Lexington. As a result of this search warrant, approximately 43 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 4.7 pounds of cocaine, approximately 19,000 dosage units of fentanyl pills, 30.9 grams of heroin and three firearms were seized. Arrested at this location were Ariadna Lemus-Fuentes of Lexington and Jose Alberto Valles-Espinoza, a Mexican native were charged with Federal drug trafficking charges and also lodged in the Laurel county Detention Center.

Assisting the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office during this investigation were the DEA London and Lexington Resident Offices, FBI London and Lexington Resident Agencies, London Police Department, Somerset Police Department, Lexington Police Department Emergency Response Unit and the Lexington Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit.

Sheriff Root also added “ The outstanding inter-agency cooperation was vital in the successful conclusion of these seizures and arrests.” Sheriff Root further added that the “War on Drugs” will continue.

The estimated street value of these narcotics is over $2.5 million dollars.

A train, operated by two Pulaski County men, collided with a pickup truck in Tennessee last weekend.

Tennessee Highway Patrol says, 66-year-old Timothy Braden was driving the pickup on Main Street in Oliver Springs and failed to yield to the railroad signal lights. He crossed over the Norfolk Southern railroad crossing and was struck by the southbound train.

The train engine, manned by engineer Mike Bryant and conducted by Andrew Denny, both of Burnside, Ky., traveled about one-fourth mile south when it stopped.

Timothy Braden, 36, also of Oliver Springs, was a passenger in his father's truck. He said his father was knocked out and was transported to Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge to be checked out.
 

Investigators say both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

A Liberty man arrested on drug & weapon charges last week.

Sheriff Chad Weddle, Deputies Hannah Lynn and Jayson Grider, and K9 Ronnie arrested 28 year old Jesse Galloway after receiving a call of a vehicle in the roadway on Emerson Rd.

Galloway is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense (meth), fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), and resisting arrest. Galloway was also arrested on a warrant for parole violation and a Kenton County warrant for failure to appear.

He was lodged in the Casey County Jail.

Reports of a vehicle all over the roadway led to the arrest of three Russell County residents last week.

Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle, Deputy Jayson Grider, and K9 Ronnie responded to the call and made the arrests during a traffic stop on 127.

Elisabeth M. Bandy, 29, of Russell Springs, is charged with DUI-controlled substance, and no insurance.

34 year old David Wisdom, also of Russell Springs, is charged with public intoxication on a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance 1st degree (cocaine), and drug paraphernalia.

Dustin J. Stephens, 33, of Jamestown, is charged with public intoxication on a controlled substance.
All three were lodged in the Casey County Jail.

The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.

John McQueary and Tracy Gossage were both reappointed to the Water Board, and Algie Atwood was reappointed for another term on the Ambulance Board...
 

Under road business the salt bid was awarded to Morton Salt at a rate of $129.29 per ton.

Under jail business the magistrates voted to authorize Judge Executive Randy Dial to sign a state contract for the jail. Under miscellaneous business the magistrates voted to authorize Sheriff Chad Weddle to apply for another cruiser grant.

The court went into executive session for about a half an hour to discuss possible real estate acquisition and litigation. No action was taken.

Sheriff Greg Speck reports the arrest of Andrea Johnson, age 35 of Science Hill, Kentucky by Deputy Tan Hudson following the report of a female on the side of the road supposedly changing a child’s diaper. 

At approximately 4:25 AM this morning, Deputy Tan Hudson was dispatched by 911 Dispatch to a complaint that someone saw a female who had a child laid on the side of the road changing a diaper.  When Deputy Hudson arrived, he located Andrea Johnson and a two-year old child on the railroad tracks at Norwood-Mount Zion and N. Highway 27 intersection.  Deputy Hudson reported that Johnson appeared to be intoxicated. 

Based on Deputy Hudson’s investigation at the scene, Andrea Johnson was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place. 

Andrea Johnson was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center where she remains lodged as of this press release.  The child (related to Johnson) was released to a responsible family member. 

Deputy Hudson was assisted at the scene by Deputy Seth Gover.

This investigation continues by Deputy Tan Hudson and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Liberty City Council met in regular session Monday.

The council advertised for bids for electric franchise in the City Of Liberty and receive one bid from LG&E and KU. That bid was accepted.

The council voted unanimously to support a resolution related to making Liberty a trail town.

There was a discussion concerning expansion of uses at Lake Liberty. That issue was put on hold till the next meeting with no action taken.

Mayor Steven Brown said there was a water tank inspection recently with the tank on dry Ridge that was erected in 1978 which was leaking approximately 30,000 gallons per day. The leak was temporally patched. The estimated cost for repair is about $160,000. The council voted to advertise bids for that repair.

A Pulaski County woman is facing numerous charges after leading police on a pursuit through Casey and Lincoln Counties over the weekend.

A Russell County woman is charged with stabbing a woman multiple times.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston says it started with an altercation Saturday.

35 year old Brittany Guidry, of Wesley Street, Jamestown allegedly stabbed the victim, LaTonya Bell, four times.

Bell was transported to Russell County Hospital, then transferred to University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment.

Guidry was incarcerated in the Russell County Jail by Deputy Corey Meyer on a first degree assault charge.

Russell Springs Police, Kentucky State Police, and Russell County EMS also responded.

An Adair County man was killed in a logging accident Wednesday.

Kentucky State Police responded with the Adair County Sheriff’s Office to the scene on Tower Rd. in Adair County. 

Investigators tell us Tony Burton, age 53 of Columbia, had been using a farm tractor to maneuver timber.  While operating the tractor, Mr. Burton overturned the tractor into a deep ravine causing trapping underneath the tractor. 

Mr. Burton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adair County Coroner. 

Adair County Fire and EMS also responded. 

The investigation is ongoing by the Trooper Levi Scott.
