Sheriff Greg Speck reports on Thursday, July 14, 2022, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals on drug related charges.
Sheriff Speck reports the incident began when Detective Lieutenant Daryl Kegley, Detective Matt Bryant and an Agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation observed a vehicle leave a residence on Little Rock Run and fail to stop at a stop sign on Poplarville Road. Detective Lieutenant Kegley conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. During the stop, it was discovered the passenger of the vehicle had active warrants for her arrest.
The passenger, Misty Ison of Letcher County, was arrested on the active warrant. Detective Lieutenant Kegley observed a handbag in the passenger floorboard and learned the bag could contain illegal narcotics. Detective Lieutenant Kegley searched the bag and uncovered approximately 20.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Detective Bryant noticed the driver of the vehicle, April Meade, of Little Rock Run, attempting to conceal items. Once Meade was out of the vehicle, Detective Bryant located a baggie on the ground containing suspected methamphetamine. Detective Bryant searched the driver's compartment and located a baggie under the seat containing 5 individual baggies of suspected methamphetamine, totaling approximately 28.1 grams.
Detectives continued their investigation by searching the residence the two females had left from. Upon searching the residence, Detectives located approximately 89.1 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies, marijuana, a Kimber pistol, and various paraphernalia and ammunition.
Ison was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center where she was lodged on the following charges:
*Flagrant Non-Support (Warrant)
*Persistent Felony Offender (Warrant)
*Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st offense Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Meade was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center where she was lodged on the following charges:
*Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st offense Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Marijuana
Detectives were assisted on the scene by Sergeant Zach Mayfield, Detective Sergeant Cody Cundiff and Detective Joey Johnson.
The investigation is ongoing by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
