A LINCOLN CO. MAN WAS KILLED IN A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WEDNESDAY

A Lincoln County man was killed in a two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 27 in Nicholasville.

Investigators say, an older Jessamine County woman driving, a Ford Edge, was turning left onto Keene Center Drive and collided with an 18-wheeler cattle truck with two occupants from Lincoln County with no cattle inside.

The truck went into the ditch. The driver, 58 year old Bennie G. Shelton, was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown from the truck and died.

The driver of the Ford Edge was injured and the passenger of the truck was not.

Nicholasville Police are investigating.

Services for Mr. Shelton will be conducted by the Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home in Waynesburg.
