George Henry Keltner, 91, Clay Ridge, KY (Adair County Native)

 

George Henry Keltner, 91, departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at his residence in Clayridge, KY, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 8, 1934 in Gradyville, KY to the late Carter and Vester Moss Keltner.
 
He leaves behind a legacy that money could never afford. The love of family, the friendship of an entire community, the most gentle spirit and countless memories that have shaped the lives around him.
 
The family would like express our greatest appreciation to Dr. Chuck Giles and Dr. Van Giles, along with their staff, for the care, love and friendship they have provided to him throughout the years.
 
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Nellie Keltner; a very special friend, Mary Moss; four sisters: Mildred, Velmar, Flora and Nola, his son, George Jr.; and two great-grandchildren: Abigail and Gabrielle Burton.
 
SURVIVORS:
2 daughters: Rhonda (Louis) Smith of Columbia and Melissa (Doyle) Stearns of Greensburg
4 grandchildren: Karen (Adam) Darnell, Daniel (Jeannie) Smith, Laura (Jason) Akers and Brandy Bryant
11 great-grandchildren: Evan, Kinley, Carson, Isaac, Kylee, Jayla, Kason, Anthony, Halle, Joshua and Zachary
4 great-great grandchildren: Bentley, Everleigh, Beckham and Vince
A family he chose: The Moss Family of Greensburg, Larry & Kay Legg, Howard & Briann Eastridge and Ralph & Treva Curry
 
Funeral Service: Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 1:30 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Victor Matney officiating
 
Burial: Tarter’s Chapel Cemetery
 
Visitation: After 4:00 P.M. Saturday
 
Casket Bearers: Karen and Adam Darnell, Louis Smith, Daniel Smith, Laura & Jason Akers, and Brandy Bryant
 
Honorary Pallbearers: Ralph Curry, Jimmy Firquin, Roger Moss, Curt Yarberry, Larry Legg and all workers & friends at JL Gate
