Rosa Stephens, 89, of Russell Springs, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 15, 1936 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late William Everette and Mollie Jane Chrisman Foster.
Rosa was a member of the first graduating class from Russell County High School. She was a retired CNA for Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation. Rosa was a lifelong housewife and mother, and a member of Bernard Ridge Church of God, being the longest active member.

2 granddaughters: Brenna (and Charlie) Mullennex of Louisville and Amy Murray of Columbia
5 great-grandchildren: Whitley Stephens, Shaylen Hatcher, Emma Sims, Jeremiah Bottom, and Charles Madden Mullennex
1 great-great-grandchild: Aspyn Sims
Special niece & caregiver: Emilee Stephens of Russell Springs
In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Arvester “R.V.” Stephens, who passed away on June 13, 2016; her daughter, Teresa Murray; two great-grandchildren: Austin and Brendan Hatcher; her brothers: William Foster, Virgil Foster, and Virlan Foster; and her sisters: Della Diamond and Izel Riggs.
Funeral Service: Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00amCT at Bernard Ridge Church of God, with Bro. Eric Richardson and Bro. Scott Proctor officiating; Special music by Dianna Hughes and Jeanie Crockett
Burial: Bernard Ridge Cemetery
Visitation: Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pmCT and Saturday beginning at 9:00amCT at Bernard Ridge Church of God
