Gregory “Butch” Godbey, 67, of Poplar Hill, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Butch was known for his fun-loving spirit, protective nature, and unwavering dependability. A farmer and true jack-of-all-trades, he could fix nearly anything and was always willing to lend a hand. He is also survived by his sister, Rita (Steve) Sweeney; brothers, Chris (Jennifer) Godbey, Mike (Ellen) Godbey, and Steve (Anita) Godbey; his special aunt, Susan Godbey; and special uncle, Vernie Watson.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Russell; father, Frank Godbey; and uncle, Vadis “Harvey” Godbey.
Honorary pallbearers are Gilbert Cravens, Ricky Terry, Andrew Godbey, Philip Godbey, Russell Martin, Joshua “Ben” Coggins, Chris Peoples, and Ben Haycox.
