VINA BELL

 

Vina Maxine Bell, of Georgetown, formerly of Liberty, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Dover Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was 82.

 

Born on September 29, 1941, in Liberty, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson “Jack” and Anna Fox Cochran. She retired from Trane after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Maxine attended Fugazzi Business College and later obtained her Real Estate license. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and working with flowers and plants. She was a foster parent and a Red Hat Society lady.

 

She is survived by two sons, Jeffery (Denise) Atwood and Dwight (Dana) Atwood of Georgetown; a daughter, Lisa (Roy) Thomas of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Timothy (Ashley) Atwood, Heather (Nathan) Brown, Brandi Atwood, Bobbie-Jo Thomas, Travis Thomas, and Amanda (Kevin) Napier; and eight great-grandchildren, Raelynn, River, Ella Mae, Grayson, Tate, Case, Crystal, and Lucian. Other survivors include a sister, Judy; a special niece, Angie Parmer; and aunt, Ruby Baker.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters, Elvadene, Mary, Shirley, and Wonetta; three brothers, Charles, Andrew, and Albert; and a grandchild, Jesse Lee Thomas.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

 

Burial will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
