GAY LYNN

 

Gay Frances (Murray) Lynn, age 76 passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, February 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Martinsville, IN.

 

Gay was born on November 25, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to her parents, the late William and Lena Mae (Giles) Murray. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Gay will be remembered by her friends, family and neighbors for her exceptional cooking and delicious baked goods. She loved hosting parties with her children and grandchildren where they would play music, make snacks and play games. Gay was an avid reader of the Bible and of mystery novels. She loved to sing, play her piano and strum her guitar. Gay also enjoyed listening to the rain fall and watching Indiana Jones movies with her grandchildren.

 

Gay was preceded in death on June 25, 2016 by her devoted husband of 53 years, Lowell D. Lynn Sr., whom she married on October 20, 1962 in Trousdale, TN. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Patty Whitaker, Paul, Billy & Gary Murray; granddaughter, Jenny Lozado; and a great granddaughter, Alora Lynn.

 

Gay is survived by her loving children, Christina Hansel of Martinsville, Lowell D. (Jessica) Lynn Jr. of Coatesville, Donald C. (Kim) Lynn of Liberty, KY, Rachel (Thomas) Roach of Martinsville, John P. (Betty) Lynn, Jessie A. Lynn and Joseph A. Lynn all of Avon & Lori D. (Buck) McKinney of Coatesville; siblings, Doris Danz of Martinsville, Linda Asa of Indianapolis, Sandy Burton of Indianapolis, Sherry Smith of Edinburgh, Cathy Tyree of Indianapolis, Tim Murray of Greenwood and Mike Murray of Ellettsville; 22 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, February 14th from 4 - 8 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.

 

The Rev. Marcus Dodrill will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, February 15th at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, 168 Lawndale Drive in Plainfield.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 16th at 11 a.m. at the Wilson Cemetery in Liberty, Kentucky.
