MARY CHANSLER

 

Ms. Mary Esther Chansler, 71, of Girdler, passed away Friday afternoon, February 2, 2024 at the St. Joseph London Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late William and Susie Godby Chansler born on July 7, 1952 in Liberty.

 

Mary enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie, coloring books and praying.  She also loved eating at Dairy Queen and KFC.  Mary was known to be a jolly person who would always greet you with a hug and especially liked being surrounded by her family.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, June and Louise Mills and four brothers, James, Oval, Ray and Lee Chansler.

 

Survivors include her loving sister, Shirley R. Wilson of Cannon; best friend and caregiver, Brenda Willis of Williamsburg; among many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, February 7 at 7 P.M. with Bro. Dewayne Smith and Bro. Billy Mills officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Trace Fork Cemetery in Casey County Thursday, February 8 at 4 P.M.

 

Casket bearers will be Steve Chansler, Pat Mills, Tommy Mills, Brad Smith, Dustin Mills and Patrick Ledington. Honorary bearers will be her nieces, nephews and staff of Trinity Support Services.

 

Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 5 P.M. until the funeral hour.  Family and friends will gather at the cemetery Thursday prior to the service time.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
