Wanda Elaine Propes Johnson, of Dunnville, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center. She was 63.

Born June 24, 1960, in Marion County, Elaine was the daughter of the late Hobert and Ruby Mae Barger Propes. Elaine spent her life doing farmwork and loved being outside. Elaine enjoyed music, her dogs, eating, and coloring.

She is survived by her son, Lester Propes; her daughters, Melissa Popplewell (and Gary Schubert), Tracy Pendleton (and Brent Pendleton and Joshua Burkett), and Amanda (and Ken) Pallazola; her brothers, Norman Propes, Donald (and Shirley) Propes and Darrell (and Phyllis) Propes; her sisters, Linda Payton and Brenda Sue Luster; her grandchildren, Abby Pendleton, Amy Popplewell, Pebbles Williams, Kimberly Propes, Samantha O’Conner, Breana Murphy, Dakota Long, Bam Popplewell, Lester Prowes, Timothy McCauley, K.J. Pallazola, and Taylor Pallazola; 5 great-grandsons; and 2 great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, James Brent Johnson; her brothers, Edgar Propes, Wayne Propes, and Eugene Propes; and her sisters, Joyce Ann Propes, Angela Mae Propes, and Alma Schmiers.   

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Ogle officiating.

Burial to follow in Peyton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brent Pendleton, Joshua Burkett, Dakota Long, Gary Schubert, Eric Luttrell, and Jacob Murphy.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to help the family offset funeral expenses.
