JAMES 'JP' WARNER

 

James P. “J.P.” Warner, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home. He was 95.

 

Born on March 15, 1928, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Loral Campbell Warner. J.P. loved farming and his dairy and beef cattle. He greatly enjoyed gardening and grew many crops of tobacco and corn over the years. In the past, he had worked as a mail handler for the railroad for ten years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church where he was also a former Sunday School teacher. J.P. was a sociable man that loved people and truly never met a stranger.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Juanita Tanner Warner of Liberty, who he wed on July 3, 1950; two daughters, Carol (Terry) Cantwell of Elizabethtown and Connie (Bobby) Warner Barker of Campbellsville; a son, Jeff (Cindy) Warner of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Laurie (Brent) Hudson of Richmond, Miranda (Brian) Beam of Bardstown, Josh (Maria) Gibson of Louisville; Erin Cantwell of Ft. Myers, Florida, Mary Beth Warner of Bowling Green, and John Luke Warner of Jamestown.

 

Other survivors include five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey (Hannah) Alcorn, Katie Jo Ramey, Luke Hudson, Jonas Beam, and Gavin Beam; a great-great-grandson, Hershel Alcorn; a brother, Samuel Warner; and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Earl Warner, Merl Warner, O.D. Warner, Edward Warner, and Chester B. Warner.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. EST on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ritchie Curtis officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Green River Valley Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. EST to 2:00 P.M. EST on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

 

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to either the Green River Valley Cemetery fund or Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church.
