Versie Mae Luttrell Terry, a proud resident of Dunnville, Kentucky, was welcomed home by her Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at her home. She was 86.  

She was born January 13th, 1937, in Casey County, KY, daughter of her late parents Earnest and Bessie Luttrell. She was also preceded by her siblings Lorene Monday, Don Luttrell, Arlis Luttrell, Lois Emerson, and Marcille Wilkerson.

She wed her husband, Thurman Terry on November 29th, 1955. She is survived in death by those she loved dearly, her daughter Carla, and son Rick and his wife Dawn. She was most proud of her grandchildren Richie Waddell, Chris Waddell, Derick Terry and wife, Lacey, Brittany Forsythe and husband Logan, and Katie Burton and her great grandchildren, Callie and Collin Terry and Maddox and Maggie Forsythe. She is also survived by siblings, Sherill Luttrell and Odean Clements.

Versie was a hard worker and held several jobs throughout her life to provide for her family. In her younger years, Versie enjoyed a good rook game and drag racing. As she grew in wisdom, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to her scanner, having conversations about Jesus and reading scripture.

Life for Versie revolved around the love she had for her community and family, always ensuring they were well fed. In Dunnville, she was famous for her homemade dill pickles, sauerkraut, and pretzel salad. If you visited Versie, she always tried to feed you.

At her core, Versie was a servant to her family and to the community that helped to raise her. She made sure to always give back in some way from cleaning her church to serving food and snacks at church events to being part of the Ladies Auxiliary Board for the Dunnville Fire Department.

Family will receive friends at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 5-8pm with service on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00am with Bro. Bill Teagarden officiating. Burial to follow at the Antioch Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richie Waddell, Chris Waddell, Derick Terry, Katy Burton, Logan Forsythe, and Jeff Monday. The Elders of Dunnville Christian Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
