OBITS

JANICE HYATT

Janice Rose (King) Hyatt, age 80, passed away peacefully March 21, 2023 due to complications from diabetes and vascular disease.

Janice was born in Liberty, Kentucky to George W. and Blanche E. King on February 7, 1943.
She was a graduate of the Class of 1961 from Casey County High School in Liberty, Kentucky.

Janice was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her children and family. She embraced every moment with them.

She had a vivacious personality and always made people laugh. She made friends wherever she went. No one was a stranger. All loved her dearly and will never forget her wit, charm, grace and undying love and caring for them. Never will be forgotten her sense of style. She was known for her knack for telling it like it was.

Janice was highly skilled with knitting needles and crochet hooks. However, her love was the sewing machine. Her hands were never still, she loved to create and quilt. She was handy with a drill and had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, going to plays, shopping and Bingo.

She was a resident of Spencer, Indiana. After her illness progressed, she moved to Evergreen Village in Bloomington, Indiana, and finally Bell Trace Senior Living Community.
We are forever grateful to the care, service, support and love she received at these facilities.
The nurses and staff are angels on earth.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Dan) Braun of Burlington Kentucky; Gwendolyn Zeigler of Gosport, Indiana; one grandson, Scott (Alex) Braun of Covington, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Brittani Parker, of Bloomington, Indiana; Jerrilyn Zeigler of Gosport, Indiana; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Eleanor; former son-in-law, James (Ziggy), Zeigler; her sister-in-law, Mardell (King); 2 nieces, 1 nephew, as well as their children, her first husband John W. Overstreet, and her second husband, Edward Hyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Blanche King and her brother Sherwin King.

A celebration of life will be held at 1;00pm Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church 428 Chelf Ridge Hustonville, Ky 40437 near Liberty, Ky. Burial will follow in the Poplar Grove cemetery.

Allen Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences, photos and memories may be shared with family and friends at www.allencares.com
