OBITS

DYLAN JONES

Dylan Delvin Jones, 62, of Somerset passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital as the result of an accident.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 31, 1960; son of David Delvin Jones, and the late Stella "Kathern" Prows Jones. He had a lengthy career and retired from both the Florida Fish & Wildlife Division, as well as the Kentucky Division of Forestry; but, he was most proud of his sons. He was passionate for the conservation of local waterways, creeks, and lakes. He loved the outdoors, and had a great respect for nature. He was blessed to witness countless sunrises and sunsets, from the lakes of Kentucky, North to the Bearing Sea, and South to the Florida Everglades. Dylan could best be described as a master fisherman, musician, and storyteller. True to his generous nature not only in life but in death, he chose to give the gift of life through selfless organ donation.

He is survived by his son, Darran & (Mariah) Jones of Georgetown; his father, David Delvin Jones; siblings, Roger Jones of Hamilton, OH., Lynelle Wood Compton of Somerset, Alison Jeanette Stringer of Crab Orchard, Holly & (George) Zachos of Easton, MA.; a special friend, Sheila McGuire; many nieces and nephews whom he was generous with his time, knowledge, and love of fishing. We know he was especially appreciative of the time he spent with his nephews Dave, Andy, Christian, and his cousin, Hunter. He leaves behind a multitude of cousins he grew up with and which he cherished throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his son, Brook Dylan Jones; and his mother, Stella "Kathern" Prows Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor Dylan on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, please take an opportunity to be generous with your time toward others, spend time enjoying the outdoors, and giving back to nature.

The family will receive friends after 1:00 PM Saturday, until time for services.

Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
