Rodney Dale Sears, age 57, of Somerset, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born on February 24, 1964 in Somerset, son of the late Arnold E. Sears and Linda Ann Cook Sears.  Rodney was a laborer in the sawmill industry and was also self-employed worker in the landscaping business.  He was a kind-hearted, generous and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing bingo, fishing and being sociable with his friends.  He was of the Apostolic-Pentecostal Faith and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and by the “love of his life”; Penny and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted daughter; Codie (D. J.) Bishop of Somerset and Kristy Sears also of Somerset, a son; Rodney Caleb Sears of Eubank, a brother; Darren Wayne (Sharon) Sears, two sisters; Barbara Sears and Karen (Jerry) Dick all of Somerset, three grandchildren; Ryan Bishop, Conner Brumley, Ava Grace Stewart and special cousin; Ricky Sears of Somerset as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory.  The Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Bell officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Rodney Dale Sears Memorial Fund in care of Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory, 113 North Main Street, Somerset, Kentucky  42501.
