LOIS EVANS

Lois Evans, of Dunnville, Kentucky, departed from this world on Friday, April 23, 2021, at her home while surrounded by her family. She was 92.

 

Born on August 28, 1928, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Ioda Cleary Overstreet. Lois loved reading, hiking the Appalachian trail, gardening, her many pets (especially Lucy), and above all, her family. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

 

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Burke of Russell Springs and Rosemary Abell of Liberty; one brother, Muriel Overstreet of Dunnville; eight sons, Jimmy Evans of Hustonville, Ronnie (Paulette) Evans of Dunnville, Danny (Sharlene) Evans of Liberty, Greg (Kernetta) Evans of Dunnville, Ricky (Terry) Evans of Liberty, Gary (Joanne) Evans of Liberty, and Roger (Peggy) Evans of Dunnville; and one daughter, Wanda (Dan) Leuck of Indiana. Other survivors include twenty-nine grandchildren, Chris (Alitta) Evans, Kyle (Lisa) Evans, Kasey (Justin) Padgett, Virginia Ann Evans Lee, Dewayne (Tracey) Evans, Susan (Mike) Giles, Joanie (Tim) Baldock, Randy (Robin) Leuck, Teresa (Eric) Leuck, Chad Leuck, Tina (Matt) Watkeys, Danielle (Steve) Radtke, Wes (Shelley) Leuck, Danielle (Russell) True, Amanda (Phil) Vogel, Kelly (Rob) O’brien, Jeremy (Ashley) Evans, Sandra (Robert) Allen, Joe (Bobbie) Evans, Jennifer (Chad) Grinnell, Miranda (Adam) Hines, Derek (Tina) Evans, John Dillon, Shelby Scott, Heather (Hector) Evans, Cassandra (Stephen) Wall, Jessica Evans, Crystal Evans, and Blake Evans; a daughter-in-law, Reeda Evans; forty-one great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-four years, Hugo Evans; five sisters, Retha Miller, Reba Overstreet, Doris Thomas, Beulah Delk and Jewell Cadell; two brothers, Charles Overstreet and Buford Overstreet; a son, Durrell Evans; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Evans; and a great-granddaughter in-law, Shyanne Evans.

 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Facial coverings ARE required.

 

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Evans, Ronnie Evans, Danny Evans, Greg Evans, Ricky Evans, Gary Evans, and Roger Evans.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
