GLENNA EDWARDS

Glenna L. Edwards, age 83, of Somerset, passed from this life on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on December 10, 1937 in Columbia, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jack Young and Ruth Van-Hoy Young.  Glenna was of the Christian Faith and a member of Southland Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Glenna was an avid reader and had a genuine passion for taking care of others, including her beloved dogs and cats.   She would send birthday cards to many family and friends as an act of kindness.  She was a loving devoted wife of 56 years  to the Late H. O. Edwards. Glenna was a caring and compassionate caregiver.  She spent several years as a Clerical Associate at the Lake Cumberland Medical Associates in Somerset as a dedicated employee.   Glenna was such a kind-hearted, friendly and generous person and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children; Chris (Emily) Edwards of Owensboro, Kentucky and Stephanie (Brian) Whitaker of Somerset, Kentucky, a sister; Betty Young of Somerset, four grandchildren; Hannah (Austin) Coomer, Emily Whitaker, Joshua Edwards and Addy Reese, two great-grandchildren; Lakynn Baber and Kipp Baber as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company.
