Kurtis James Pitman, age 20, of Nancy, KY, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.

Kurtis was born on July 1, 2000 in Somerset, KY to Brandon Pitman and Crystal Ann Tompkins.  He had a deep love for the Lord and was always there to provide a helping hand, encouraging word, or even just a smile to those who needed it.  Kurtis was a graduate of Pulaski County High School and obtained his CDL’s, which he was very proud of.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; he had a passion for music and especially creating it.  He shared a close relationship with his cousin, Raleigh, who helped him with his music.  Kurtis also had a love for fast cars.  He had many accomplishments and lots of big dreams and left here with greater things to do.  He has earned his wings and will now shelter his family and will continue to carry them throughout their life until they meet again. 

He is survived by his father, Brandon Bruce Pitman of Nancy; his mother, Crystal Ann Pitman (Tompkins) and Robert Massengill of Nancy; three brothers, McCoy William Boyd (Chaney) of Somerset, Justice Wade Boyd (Tompkins) of Somerset, Nealan Charlie Boyd (Tompkins) of Somerset; one sister, Adrian Maureen Pitman of Nancy; paternal grandfather, Bruce (and Judy) Pitman; paternal grandmother, Robin Rogers Harris; maternal grandmother, June Tompkins; special aunt, Lacey Tompkins; special uncle, Tyson Pitman; special cousin, Raleigh Miller; and other family members and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles “Chuck” L. Tompkins; grandfather, Charles Lafavers; and a step-grandfather, Cleo Harris.  

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
