OBITS

BARBARA DUNHAM

Barbara Fahl Dunham, 111 Palm Circle, passed away on February 20, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She shared her love and faith abundantly and unconditionally.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on November 1, 1934.  Preceding her in death are her parents; David and Clara Buehner Fahl, and sisters; Ruth Bagwell, Dorothy Eicher, and Rosemary (Walter) Light.

She is survived by her husband; John David Dunham, whom she married on July 16, 1960, in Columbus, OH.  Also surviving are sons; John (Jessica), Sanford, NC, and Paul (Rhonda), Somerset; daughters; Leslie Combs (Jeff), Liberty Township, OH, and Linda Kirkpatrick (Kris), Somerset.  She is also survived by grandchildren; Hayley Wynne (Jairus) Doby and Ian Dunham, Sanford, NC, Jordan and Claire Combs, Liberty Township, OH, Chantz (Bailey) Dunham, Somerset, Mary (Jeremy) Toohey and Molly Schoolcraft, Somerset; and great-grandchildren; Wyatt Grayce Dunham and John-Paul Doby, Sanford, NC, and Rylee Jo Dunham, Somerset. Other survivors are a brother; George (Sandi) Fahl, Bucyrus, OH, a brother-in-law; Charles Eicher, Sioux Fall, SD, and many beloved nieces and nephews

Mrs. Dunham retired from the Somerset Independent school System in 1996.  She strived to make a difference in every child’s life, and took pride in the education of others. (FYI The word “obituary” comes from the Latin word “obit” which means gone forward. Indeed!) She was an active and proud member of St. Mildred Catholic Church, was a faithful servant of our Lord, and always gave of herself freely.  She prayed daily and unceasingly, and was known as a prayer warrior to all.

There will be a private Memorial Mass for the family at St. Mildred Church at 1:00 O’clock on March 6 with the Rev. Joseph Von Handorf, Rev. Dan Taylor, and Deacon Larry Cranfill officiating.

Additional information can be found on the St. Mildred Church Facebook page, or at www.somersetundertaking.com

There will not be a visitation at this time, however a celebration of Barbara and her life will be held in the future.
