OBITS

OLLIE McGLOTHLIN

Ollie Mae McGlothlin, age 88, of Ferguson, KY, went home to be with “Her Sweet Jesus” on Tuesday morning, February 9th, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Ollie was married to Jodie Mack McGlothlin, who survives her, in Jamestown, KY on October 27th, 1948.  They shared 72 blessed years together.  Their relationship exemplified their faith in the Lord, as well as their love for Him and each other, along with honor and commitment.  Ollie worked for 34 ½ years at Palm Beach. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, crocheting, working in her flowers and garden.  She was also an amazing cook that was well-known for her cornbread, chicken-n-dumplings, and pecan pies.  Her most precious treasure was her family and the honor she held of being a “Granny.”  Nothing made her happier than when all of her family were over for Sunday dinners and the holidays.  She left a legacy behind of her faith and love for her family. Ollie was a member of the Somerset First Church of the Nazarene, on Crawford Avenue, since 1965.  She raised her children and grandchildren up in this church and taught them about the Lord.  She lived her life for Christ and her love of the Lord was evident in all aspects of her life.  She never met a stranger, and her smile would light up any room she entered.  She will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Jodie McGlothlin of Ferguson, KY; son, Danny (Almeta) McGlothlin of Somerset, KY; son-in-law Don Campbell of Ferguson, KY; granddaughters Andrea (T.J.) Bower of Ferguson, KY; Amber (J.R.) Parker of Bronston, KY; grandsons, Corey (Ashlea) McGlothlin and Josh (Megan) McGlothlin, both of Somerset, KY; great-grandchildren, Logan Bower, Kayden Parker, Macie McGlothlin, Prewitt McGlothlin, Brady Parker, Brooklyn McGlothlin and Brynlee McGlothlin; her brothers, John T. Burton and Gary D. Burton, a sister Zella (Larry) Harris, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis & Audie Burton of Nancy, KY, brothers Dexter Burton, Harrison Burton, and Leonard Burton, a sister Louella Davenport, and her beloved daughter Debra Kay Campbell of Ferguson, KY.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Friday at 3:00pm at the chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with  Rev. Phil Bower and Bro. Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance.  Facial coverings ARE required at all times.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
