JC BERNARD

JC Bernard, of Butcher Street in Liberty, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020, in Lexington. He was 85.

 

Born October 15, 1935, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Chester and Oma Luttrell Bernard. JC was the owner and operator of Boulevard Auto Sales in Liberty. He was former Liberty Police Officer and a former Casey County Deputy Jailer. JC was a United States Marine. He loved to trade just about anything and had been in the car business for most of his adult life.

 

JC was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Elmore Bernard, who passed away on September 30, 2016; his brothers, Jerry, Mack, and Wayne Bernard; and sisters, Juanita Defee, Judy Pendleton, and Betty June Bernard.

 

Survivors include his son, Steve (and Wendy) Bernard of Liberty; daughters, Tamera Bernard (and Bill Devine) of Danville and Chasity (and Eddie) Crew of Liberty; brother, Caleb Bernard of Liberty; sisters, Vicki (and Wayne) Beldon of Hustonville and Patty Sanders of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Lacey (and Byron) Edwards, Bransky Bernard, and Jacob Tabor; and 2 great-grandchildren, Skyler and Cash Bernard.

 

Funeral services will be private on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Coffman and Bro. Casey Davis officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Glenwood Cemetery.

 

There will be a public visitation after 6:00PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Please enter through the front doors (Campbellsville Street) side when you arrive for visitation. Facial coverings MUST be worn. Please be mindful of social distancing guidelines.

 

Pallbearers will be Eddie Crew, Jacob Tabor, Carl Wayne Garrett, Brian Garrett, Andy Bernard, and Rance Baird. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Devine, Jerry Garrett, Richard Montgomery, Johnny Johnson, Doug Johnson, Carl Sandusky, Russell Overstreet, Jackie Rodgers, Caleb Bernard, Bobby Lee McFarland, Dewayne Mullins, Danny Evans, Jerald Emerson, Greg Rodgers, and Jerome Salyers.
