ROSE CRAVENS

Rose Cravens, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 91.

 

Born on April 24, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James D. Shell and Mary Lou Thomas O’Neal. Rose enjoyed gardening, ginseng digging, and reading her bible.

 

Survivors include her two daughters, Mildred (Doug) Mills of Liberty and Jean (Jack Jones) Cravens of Versailles; a son, Ronald (Dianna) Cravens of Somerset; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by a son, James Curtis Cravens; two sisters, Ruby Coffey and Ethel Cundiff; and two brothers, Ralph Shell and Ray Shell.

 

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating.

 

Burial will follow in South Fork Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Please enter through the front doors (Campbellsville Street side) of the funeral home when you arrive for visitation. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings ARE required.
