TOMMY COOPER

Tommy Cooper, of Clementsville, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

 

Born on July 20, 1940, in Mayland, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Vincent and Tiva Jane Harris Cooper. Tommy was a sawmill worker. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, and being outdoors. Tommy loved spending time with his family. His last ride was given to his final destination by his grandson, Andrew Cooper.

 

He is survived by his wife, Paulita Wethington Cooper, who he wed on October 1, 1960; two daughters, Dorothy Cooper and Wanda (Jimmy) Wethington, both of Clementsville; six grandchildren, Amanda, Donald, Lisa, Andrew, Victoria, and Cassie; and eleven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Audra, TJ, Kaleb, Preston, Kaden, Dominic, Kenslee, Brayden, Riley, and Carsen. Other survivors include six sisters, Susie Barnes of Crossville, TN, Joyce Fultz of Glennie, Michigan, Betty Stamps of Muddy Pond, TN, Anna Cooper of Clark Range, TN, Gail (Tony) Wethington of Clementsville, and Brenda (Murriel) Wethington of Clementsville; four brothers, Charles Cooper of Crossville, TN, Ray (Ethel) Cooper of Crossville, TN, Bill (Elsie) Cooper of Crothersville, IN, and Richard (Becky) Cooper of Crossville, TN; a special caregiver, Brooklyn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Tommy is preceded in death by a sister, Lou Ann Brown; and a brother, David Cooper.

 

The funeral mass will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, July 20, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father George Otuma officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Facial coverings must be worn by everyone in attendance.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. on Monday, July 20, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Please enter through the front doors (Campbellsville Street) side when you arrive for visitation. Facial coverings MUST be worn. Please be mindful of social distancing guidelines.

 

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland at 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, Kentucky, 42503.
