The Casey County community is grieving the tragic loss of Garland Davis, 80, following a fatal tractor accident Wednesday evening.

According to Coroner Michael Brown, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at a residence on Green River Valley Road, approximately eight miles outside Liberty. Preliminary findings suggest Mr. Davis was operating a moving tractor when he may have experienced a medical emergency, causing him to fall. The tractor subsequently ran over him and continued forward until it collided with the home's back porch.

Mr. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Green River Valley Separate Baptist Church. Officiating will be his son, Bro. Casey Davis, alongside Bro. Richard Irwin
