Due to prolonged dry weather and heightened fire risk, Casey County Judge/Executive Randy Dial has issued an executive order enacting a county-wide ban on all open burning, effective immediately.

Citing Kentucky Revised Statute 149.401, the order responds to increasingly hazardous conditions in grasslands, woodlands, and residential areas.

The ban will remain in place until sufficient rainfall reduces the threat of wildfires. Violators may face fines ranging from $50 to $500 under state law.
