CLEMENTSVILLE MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES

Casey County man arrested on drug charges late Thursday.

Casey County Deputy Tyler Luttrell and Constable Ralph Mondle were trailing a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am with an unilluminated license plate. They initiated a traffic stop on KY West 70 and approached the driver, Robert J. Coffman, 40, of Clementsville.

Deputy Luttrell noticed signs of possible impairment and requested his ID and vehicle information. Deputy Austin Harris arrived to assist.

Deputy Harris deployed K-9 Nitro, who gave a positive alert on the vehicle. When questioned, Robert admitted to using meth a few days prior and had two syringes in his jacket pocket. He consented to a Standard Field Sobriety Test, which he failed.

Deputy Harris discovered a bottle cap with a crystal-like substance and three syringes in the center console, two with blood. Robert confirmed the substance appeared to be meth. He was arrested and transported to Casey County Jail on charges of:
?    Rear License Not Illuminated
?    DUI-Controlled Substance
?    Possession of Methamphetamine-1st Degree
?    Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
