A Liberty man is in custody after leading police on a brief pursuit in Nelson County. 

According to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy attempted a traffic stop on Highway 150 just after midnight on Sunday. 

The driver was clocked at 89 mph in a 55-mph zone. 

Despite the deputy’s efforts, 42-year-old Inca Calcine of Liberty, Kentucky, failed to stop and continued westward onto the Bluegrass Parkway. The Kentucky State Police (KSP) assisted by deploying spike strips near the 3-mile marker. 

The pursuit concluded, and Calcine was apprehended. He now faces multiple charges, including fleeing and evading police, wanton endangerment, reckless driving, resisting arrest, driving without registration, and lacking insurance. 

Calcine was lodged at the Nelson County Jail.
