A Pulaski County man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop in Casey County Friday evening.
Deputies with Casey County Sheriff's Office stopped a 2010 Mazda 6 on East Ky 70, when the registration plate returned with a verify proof of insurance status, and stopped the car at the intersection of KY 837.
40 year old Michael S. Abbott, of Estesburg Rd., Eubank, was a passenger in the vehicle, operated by Brandon Luna.
Abbott initially refused to give his information. Deputies noticed a lump in Abbott's mouth, which he said was dip, but appeared to be a white substance. He was advised to spit it out, which he did and handed over a white substance inside of a plastic baggie. Abbott later admitted that it was methamphetamine.
Abbott was placed under arrest and transported to Casey County Jail. He is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine-1st degree, 2nd offense.
Deputy Jacob Atwood was assisted by Deputy Tyler Luttrell.
