LIBERTY MAN ARRESTED AFTER REPEATEDLY CALLING DISPATCH/CURSING OFFICERS

A Liberty man was arrested early Sunday morning after repeatedly calling dispatch and cussing out officers.

Micheal A. Vanleuven, 40, of Dry Ridge Road, was charged with harassing communications and public intoxication after making multiple calls to dispatch about his stolen vehicle.

Vanleuven told deputies that he had loaned his vehicle to a neighbor, but later changed his mind and wanted it reported stolen. Even after deputies spoke to the neighbor and confirmed that he would return the vehicle, Vanleuven continued to call dispatch over seven times and cuss out officers. At one point, he was transferred to KSP and he reportedly cussed out that Sergeant as well.

When 2 Deputies and a State Trooper arrived at Vanleuven's home, he stumbled towards their vehicles with a nearly empty bottle of whiskey. He had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

After being asked why he continued to call dispatch and cuss them, Vanleuven began to cuss at the Officers. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Casey County Jail.

Once the cuffs were removed, Vanleuven again called dispatch on his personal cell phone. The deputy jailer then took Vanleuven's phone and began booked him in.
