A Liberty woman is facing charges after she allegedly tried to bring methamphetamine into the Casey County Jail.
Deputy Tyler Luttrell, with Casey County Sheriff's Office says the incident occurred just after 10pm Tuesday night, at the Salem Church off of Linnie Rheber Road. Deputies were called to the scene after receiving a report of a motorcycle and a white pickup truck parked at the church.
The deputies made contact with the three people in the vehicles, Vicki Middleton, Clayton Simmons, and Gary Schubert. Middleton had five warrants for her arrest.
Before transporting Middleton to the jail, the deputies asked her if she had anything on her person. She said no. However, during the transport, Middleton told the deputies that she had smoked meth two hours earlier.
When they arrived at the jail, the deputies asked Middleton one last time if she had anything on her. She again said no. However, the jail staff found a glass pipe with meth residue in it between Middleton's legs.
58 year old Vicki Middleton, of Creston Water Tower Road, Liberty, was arrested and charged with promoting contraband in the first degree (attempt), possession Meth-1st degree, and drug paraphernalia.
