A Somerset woman was arrested on DUI charges over the weekend following a single vehicle accident in Casey County.
Deputy Luttrell, with Casey County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene around 1:30am Saturday morning, about eight miles south east of Yosemite on E. Ky 70. The caller stated that the female driver was waiting on a friend to pick her up, and not to call the law because she'd had a few shots to drink.
Upon arrival, Deputy Luttrell made contact with the driver, 22 year old Bret M. Coshnitzke, of 4434 Upper Line Creek Rd., Somerset. Her vehicle was badly damaged, with both front airbags deployed. She declined medical treatment and stated she had just left work at the Marina and had just taken a couple of shots when she turned onto KY 70. The arrest citation states she had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and was having trouble keeping her balance.
Coshnitzke failed field sobriety tests. Three small, empty vodka bottles were found inthe vehicle. She was transported to the Casey County Jail on charges of DUI.
Deputies Atwood and Harris assisted.
