A death investigation is underway in Campbellsville.

On Wednesday morning around 10am, the Taylor County Coroner's Office was dispatched with the Taylor County Sheriff's Office to an area between Sheridan Drive & New Columbia Road, in reference to a utility worker locating human remains.

Investigators located the severely decomposed body of a male in a wooded area. The remains were transported to the Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office in Louisville.

The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities say no foul play suspected.
