A Pulaski County man died in a single vehicle accident Tuesday in Casey County.

Sheriff Chad Weddle reports, the accident happened around 2:30pm, about 16 miles SW of Liberty on KY 80. A 2013 Chevy Silverado Pickup, driven by 73 year old David W. Simpson, of Nancy, was headed East, crossed the center line and continued off the left side of the roadway. The truck traveled 71 feet, hit a utility pole, then  traveled another 146 feet and struck a tree.

Mr. Simpson was pronounced dead by the Casey County Coroner's Office.

The roadway was reopened around 4pm.
