A Russell County woman was killed and another victim seriously injured in a two vehicle accident late Monday.

Russell County Coroner, Mark Coots, says one driver, 75 year old Wanda Wethington, of Russell Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a male, whose name was not provided, was flown from the Russell County Airport to UK Medical Center in Lexington for treatment of serious injuries.

The accident happened just after 6pmCT, just north of the Fields Road intersection on US 127.

Kentucky State Police are investigating.
