Sheriff Greg Speck reports that on Tuesday August 9, 2022 Narcotics Detectives were
conducting surveillance on a suspected drug trafficker in Pulaski County. At approximately 4:45
PM, Narcotics Detectives observed the trafficker meet with a green Chevrolet Pickup truck, in
the parking lot of Somerset Mall.
Detectives approached the vehicle and began identified the passenger, Kevin Davis. While
speaking to Davis, Deputy Trent Massey and his K9 partner Leo arrived on scene to assist.
Deputy Massey conducted a walk around of the vehicle with Leo and afterwards advised
Detectives Leo had indicated the presence of illegal substances.
Detectives began to search the vehicle and located a glass smoking pipe and a baggie inside of
the vehicle. Inside of the baggie, Detectives located three individual baggies containing a clear
crystal substance. The total weight of all three baggies was approximately 64.7 grams.
Kevin Shawn Davis, Age 51, of Whitley City was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Trafficking in Controlled Substances 1st degree 1st offense, (methamphetamine)
2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The case remains under investigation by Detective Lt. Daryl Kegley and the Pulaski County
Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division.
