LIBERTY MAN RUNS NAKED FROM POLICE

A Liberty man was arrested Sunday after Police say he was running naked from Officers.

Deputy Jayson Grider, with Casey County Sheriff's Office, and Liberty Police Officer Hunter Christian, responded to the call around 11am Sunday morning, of reports of a man on Henson Ridge Road causing a disturbance and trying to grab cars.

Officers located the man on Shugar's Hill near the Poplar Springs intersection. When confronted, the suspect fled into a field owned by David Johnson. Ignoring commands to stop, he entered a wooded area. He later emerged, completely naked, onto Poplar Springs Road with a stick between his legs.

The man ran into a yard, still refusing to stop, and took the stick in his hand. He finally obeyed commands to get on the ground, but refused to lay face down and put his hands behind him.

Officers were finally able to take him into custody.

38 year old John D. Shoaf, of 4081 Contown Rd., Liberty, is charged with Public Intoxication (Controlled Substance), Fleeing/Evading Police-2nd Degree (on foot), Indecent Exposure-2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree, & Resisting Arrest.

He was lodged in the Casey County Jail.
