CASEY COUPLE CHARGED AFTER TODDLER ALLEGEDLY DANGLED FROM BRIDGE

A Casey County couple are facing charges after a child was reportedly being held over the side of a bridge.

Casey County Sheriff Chad Weddle responded to the call of a domestic dispute, shortly before 9am Thursday, on Reynolds Creek Road, about five miles north of liberty. The caller stated a man removed a small child from a vehicle and looked like he was attempting to drop the child over a bridge.

A witness stated the man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle, walked over to the female driver and started yelling & cussing at her, then removed the child, described as approximately 3 years of age. The witness stated the man held the child over his head and walked over to the side of the bridge, then held the child by its feet over the side. The man was reportedly yelling and cussing at the child, then threw the child back inside the vehicle.

On Friday, Sheriff Weddle spoke with the man, identified as 36 year old Dennie Procario, of Liberty, who stated they were not fighting, and he was just playing with the child. The mother of the child, Kabrina Nester, 28 of Liberty, coroborated that story and didn't see anything wrong with it.

Both were charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

Procario was additionally charged with wanton endangerment-1st degree, and assault-4th degree (child abuse). He was lodged in the Casey County Jail.
