A Liberty teen has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a local church.
Deputy Jayson Grider, with Casey County Sheriff’s Office, responded Sunday morning to Bethlehem United Methodist Church on KY 1547, where victims reported a Martin guitar, a flat screen tv, some keys, & food items, with a total value of nearly $1,300, missing from the church.
Deputy Grider seen 18-year-old Tanner B Wilkinson on Bell Hill on W KY 70 just days earlier, in possession of a guitar matching the description of the one taken from the church.
Mr. Wilkinson was lodged in the Casey County Jail. He admitted to entering the church building through an unlocked window & took the guitar & other items, before exiting through a side door. No damage was done to the building.
The stolen items were recovered at his residence on Rodgers Road & returned to the church.
Wilkinson is charged with Burlgary 3rd degree & theft by unlawful taking over $1,000.
