A Casey County man was rescued after falling into a grain bin last week.

Liberty-Casey County Rescue responded shortly after 5pm Thursday. Dispatched advised a man was trapped in a grain bin. 

Personnel from Brush Creek VFD and Liberty FD responded with manpower and apparatus. Liberty FD deployed Ladder 56 to support the operation. 

A social media post says, "Thanks to all agencies that responded from multiple counties. Multiple department’s from Casey county as well as neighboring counties and municipalities remained on standby for coverage and support while resources were allocated to this operation." 
 

The source goes on to say, "We were very fortunate to have the right equipment, training, and personnel. Good work by all. We were able to use grain rescue tubes and rescue auger provided to the rescue squad by our community to extricate the patient." 
 

The victim was able to leave the silo by his own power and went right back to work.
