TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARREST IN LINCOLN COUNTY

On January 4th, 2022, Deputy Price and Deputy Preston conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy Malibu on Bowen Road after checking the vehicles registration and confirming the vehicle may not have insurance.

Upon traffic stop, the operator of the vehicle was asked if anything illegal was inside of the vehicle. The operator at that time handed over a small pipe used to smoke marijuana.

Upon search of the vehicle, deputies located a black box that was concealed under the dash and steering wheel by a hair band. Inside of the black box, deputies located a significant amount of suspected heroin, a significant amount of a white powdery substance that will be sent off to the K.S.P. lab to be identified, orange and white pills which was later identified as suboxine, very small amount of marijuana, US currency and other drug related paraphernalia.

Deputies then contacted K-9 Narcotics Detective (Sgt) Michael Mullins. Detective (Sgt) Mullins is the lead investigator and will be leading the prosecution of this case. Detective (Sgt) Mullins strives to ensure that the streets of Lincoln County are safe by continuing to attack and prosecute the drug pandemic our county faces.

The female operator was placed under arrests and charged with the following:

1) Trafficking in a controlled substance - Heroin

2) Possession of a controlled substance - Opiates

3) Drug Paraphernaila.

Also assisting on scene was Deputy Phillips.

As always, the Lincoln County Sheriffs Office would like to thank Bluegrass 911 Communications and Whitties Towing for assisting.
