Sheriff Greg Speck reports that on January 6, 2022, at 2:55 AM, Deputy Noah Wesley and Deputy Tan Hudson stopped a car because of a registration and equipment violation on the car. When Deputies contacted the driver, they determined that he was under the influence.
The driver was identified as Alonzo D. Holbrook, age 51, of Nancy, Kentucky.
Follow-up investigation by the Deputies led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine being found in the car. Drug items were also found that are usually associated with the use of illegal drugs.
After conducting a standard field sobriety test, the driver was arrested.
Mr. Holbrook was charged with the following:
Charge #1 – Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) Charge #2 - Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess Charge #3 – Possession of Marijuana Charge #4 – Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance Charge #5 – Improper Display of Registration Plates Charge #6 – Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance, 1st Offense Charge #7 – Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator License Charge #8 – One Headlight Charge #9 – No Registration Plates.
The illegal drugs will be submitted to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab for identification.
Deputy Noah Wesley and Deputy Tan Hudson are continuing the investigation.
