RCSO: ABANDONED U-HAUL LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS

 

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston reports the arrest of 2 individuals after the discovery of a abandoned UHaul Truck in a field off Hwy 1611 on Thursday morning 6/3/2021. 

 

Sheriff Polston reports that a Go Cart- a Red Honda 4 wheeler and a Husky Generator  was reported stolen from a residence in Eli from Royce Roy Road. At the Scene on Hwy 1611 Landowners, Sheriff Polston and  Deputies recovered  a U Haul Truck,a Husky Generator, and a Stolen Silver Dollar. The generator was later identified as being stolen from Royce Roy Road.  The Go Cart and 4 wheeler was taken out of  town that night to Campbellsville and then transported out of state. 3 Vehicles which were involved in the thefts was towed out of Eli at the scene.

 

Two  individuals was later arrested, one that evening was served with outstanding warrants and possession of Methamphetamine by Deputy Nathan Bradshaw. Both suspects were served warrants on Friday for the Burglary, as the investigation continued.

 

James Davis from the Webb’s Cross Roads area and Thomas Blackburn from the Eli Community was both arrested and Charged with, Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking under $10,000 and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree.

 

More arrest are forthcoming locally and across State Lines. 

 

Sheriff Polston and Deputy Nathan Ginn are heading the investigation and we’re assisted by Chief Deputy Jerry Melton and other Deputies from the Sheriffs Office. Law Enforcement Officers from the state which the 4 wheeler and Go cart have been taken were notified and are working with Local Officials as well.
