Sheriff Greg Speck reports that on December 21, 2020, at approximately 12:42 AM, Deputy Tan Hudson stopped a GMC Sierra pickup. In the front seat were two male occupants, the driver and a passenger. There was a female in the truck's back seat, identified as Courtney Drury, age 29, of Sears Road in Somerset, Kentucky.
During Deputy Hudson's investigation and search of the truck, he located suspected Methamphetamine on the person of Ms. Drury. Deputy Hudson located a purse that belonged to
her, and inside the purse, Deputy Hudson located 2.5 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
along with multiple baggies. Deputy Hudson also located a Xanax with the suspected
Methamphetamine. Deputy Hudson continued his investigation and questioning of Ms. Drury.
She removed another 30 grams of suspected Methamphetamine from her person along with
Suboxone pills. Deputy Hudson secured these items.
Courtney Drury was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (greater than 2 grams of
Methamphetamine)
2. Possess of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree – Suboxone and Xanax (two counts)
3. Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
4. Theft of Identity of Another without Consent (This charge arose after Ms. Drury provided the Deputy with false information about her identity even after being warned that it was a violation of Kentucky Revised Statutes to do that)
During the investigation, it was also discovered that Courtney Drury had a Bench Warrant out of Pulaski District Court where she had failed to appear for a Pretrial Conference to answer to a charge of Unlawful Access to Computer, 1st Degree. That warrant was served on her by Deputy Tan Hudson.
Courtney Drury was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center, where she was lodged. At the jail, detention center staff located approximately .5 more grams of Methamphetamine and notified Deputy Hudson, who went back to the jail to seize it. She will have an additional charge of Promoting Contraband, 1st Degree, a felony.
Deputy Hudson was assisted at the scene by Lieutenant Richard Smith with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
The case remains under investigation by Deputy Tan Hudson.
