On Friday, Casey County Sheriff's Deputy Geoffrey Brown arrested Lonnie A. Harris, 43, of Louisville, after initiating a traffic stop at the courthouse. Harris was found with meth, scales, and $845 in cash.
Harris is charged with:
- careless driving
- no registration plates/receipt
- no insurance
- driving on suspended or revoked operator license
- DUI
- possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (meth)
- drug paraphernalia
Harris was also arrested on a parole violation warrant.
On Saturday, Harris was charged again during a search at the jail in which 15 grams of meth was found. A search warrant was also executed on the vehicle that was impounded and another 20 grams of meth was recovered. Harris is charged with promoting contraband 1st degree and trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree.
Deputy Brown was assisted by Deputies Greg Hopkins and Tim Pierce, LPD Officer Ronnie Smith, and K9 Ronnie.
