PULASKI WOMAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH A MONDAY NIGHT SHOOTING

Sheriff Greg Speck reports that a Somerset resident was arrested at approximately 10:18 pm Monday evening, July 27, 2020 after being involved in a shooting incident.

At 8:35 pm the Pulaski County 911 Center dispatched Deputies to 85 South Deerfield Court to a report of a domestic dispute that resulted in a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputy Nick Barber arrived at the scene to find one victim, Denver Miller, age 49 suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Preliminary information gained from the victim and an eyewitness indicated that Nancy M. Rainwater, age 46 of 85 South Deerfield Court, Somerset, Kentucky and Denver Miller of the same address had been involved in a domestic dispute. As the dispute escalated outside, several rocks/bricks had been thrown by both subjects.

Ms. Rainwater began to drive away from the scene in a black Chevrolet Equinox. After a short distance, Ms. Rainwater backed up the vehicle and fired two shots at Mr. Miller, striking him once in the abdomen. The driver then sped from the scene.

Deputy Tan Hudson was able to locate Ms. Rainwater within the hour and detained her for questioning. An interview was conducted at the Sheriff's Office where Ms. Rainwater was placed under arrest by Lieutenant Bobby Jones of the Criminal Investigation Division of the PCSO.

Nancy M. Rainwater was charged with: Assault, 1st Degree-Domestic Violence and Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree.

Denver Miller was treated at the scene by Pulaski County EMS personnel and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police Troopers and Burnside Police Officers.

The shooting investigation continues by Lieutenant Bobby Jones of the PCSO.
