A Somerset man is accused of residential burglaries and making his get-away in a U-Haul truck.
Pulaski Sheriff Greg Speck reports, 40 year old Corey Hatfield was arrested for Burglary, 2nd Degree by Deputy Branson Patterson on early Saturday.
Deputy Patterson received a 911 dispatch call to watch for a U-Haul van leaving a
residence near Dry Branch Road. There was a previous report of a U-Haul
seen in that area a couple of days prior and may have been involved in a break-in.
Deputy Patterson observed a vehicle matching that description on Ogden Street,
but due to traffic was not able to stop it until he was on US 27.
During his investigation, the Deputy was able to identify stolen property from the previous
burglary. He also learned that Mr. Hatfield had rented the U-Haul a couple of days
earlier on July 9, 2020.
Mr. Hatfield was lodged at the Pulaski County Jail.
The items stolen were seized and returned to the victim of the burglary.
This investigation continues. Investigators say additional arrests may be
forthcoming.
