LOCAL AREAS INCLUDED IN C.A.R.E.S. FUNDING

 

The Department for Local Government (DLG), says 18 central Kentucky governments have applied for and been granted just over $16.5 Million dollars in reimbursements from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act for local governments with expenses related to COVID-19.


Fourteen others have received preliminary approval, meaning they will receive reimbursements once final documentation is submitted to DLG.

 

Adair County 

  • Adair County will use $92,500 for payroll expenses and telework equipment.

 

Somerset

  • The City of Somerset will use nearly $826,000 to reimburse payroll expenses.

 

Stanford

  • The City of Stanford will use $213,000 in reimbursements for PPE, telework technology and police payroll.

 

Preliminary Approvals

  • The City of Harrodsburg has preliminary approval for $479,000 for payroll expenses and PPE.
  • The City of Lebanon has preliminary approval for $186,000 for police payroll and PPE.
  • Since the application was released in May, DLG has received approximately 140 applications for reimbursement from city and county governments across the commonwealth that are pending approval until all documentation is submitted. In addition, 67 applications have already been approved totaling over $32 million dollars.
